Iván Ernesto Moreno Plaza: Advances for the health sector
As you may know, the team at MIGLOBAL is always looking and searching new advances in the world that try to impact the health sector in a positive way. These technological advances we present to you today are thought to improve the health of people and to positively start being part of the everyday life of clients and patients. Keep reading and discover what the world is doing for the medicine technology.

Chrono Therapeutics is an American company that has developed a device designed to help people to stop smoking through a wearable technology, which now goes to the ranks of health. This equipment, which is connected directly to the smartphone, has the ability to record the moments of anxiety caused by the cigarette, and helps to control it, releasing doses of nicotine, handled by an algorithm previously stipulated according to its intensity.

There is also interesting information related to ophthalmologic technology and all the inventions that companies and organizations are working on. For example, the smart contact lenses designed by Sony and that received its patent in April this year. Inside this device, located in the user's eye, the RAM memory chip would be found, as well as the processor, the antenna and the read-only memory (ROM). In that place, an image processor detects every blink of the person, and identifies if the blink was unintentional or done on purpose to activate the camera or access the computer located inside the lens, everything "in the twinkling of an eye".

MIGLOBAL and New Health Technologies

Robotic exoskeleton
Losing any motor skills can have different and hard consequences in the everyday life of the patient. Depression, loss of productive capacity and other psychological and social disorders can be devastating and difficult to manage. Today, MIGLOBAL will show you details about new technologies that are changing those people’s way of life: the robotic exoskeletons.
New help and new technologies for the patients
New help and new technologies for the patients
The use of exoskeletons to assist in the mobility of those patients has not only the obvious health benefits related to the topic, but gives a new sense of autonomy to those affected, while decreasing stress levels in their families.
Robotic exoskeletons are wearable armors that help people carrying weight that they could not carry walking for long distances. These new technologies allow the affected to do so with less effort, multiply their force and provide other benefits that were originally designed as military use, but thanks to the vision of medical professionals working into this branch, these technologies are now used to help people with motor diseases to regain their independence.
Cardiovascular accidents (also known as stroke) and brain or spinal cord injuries are some of the status for which a patient may lose the ability of their skills and that can be served greatly from these new robotic technologies, which are placed on the body or somewhere specifically, assist the person in carrying out routine activities in order to make their lives more healthy.

The physiotherapists help those affected with straps tying their arms or legs to bionic suit as well as a rigid brace around the waist, and with the use of crutches the person can stand and walk as soon as they feel ready. Weight sensors in the suit perceive changes balance that the body makes when walking, sending the message to the skeleton to take a step, and the intuitive mechanism helps the person to walk as normal as possible.
This robotic exoskeletons are not only helping a patient in their everyday activities, but also their families, who can feel in the best conditions to star living a new healthy life with their relatives.

Joints such as the hips, knees, wrists and ankles are some of the main moving parts of the human body. They receive a lot of pressure and stress, and are exposed to a number of problems that can cause serious consequences. Among these problems and conditions that can affect the joints worse, we can find the osteoarthritis, a degenerative disease that attacks the cartilage and causes severe pain in the patient.

Medicine and technology

Medicine and technology form an increasingly narrower link when helping the patients. Thanks to this link, elements that seem science fiction or only related to the world of telecommunications and certain specific branches of science such as roboticshigh definition images or virtual reality are today part of everyday life of health professionals worldwide who use these tools to deal with challenges effectively, safely and rapidly.
Osteoarthritis as well as the prostate and kidney cancers are the conditions in which these new robotic technologies are applied in a better way, since with the use of robotic implements the size of the incisions to perform the procedures necessary to treat them decreases. Because of these new technologies, the bleeding, pain and the affected time spent in the hospital become smaller.
Robotics in Medicine
MIGLOBAL has produced advances in the care of this problem, developing the method known as CIAHRS, a course with Virtual Simulation for training of specialists in such interventions through virtual simulations and robotic equipment.

The company also has gathered efforts for years to train professionals in these areas in order to use these high technology tools as part of its bid to create effective responses to the world of health throughout the continent.

Know The 3 Most Innovative Health-Care Companies

1.      Proteus Digital Health

For putting GPS in the pills. Finding out what is wrong with our bodies would be a lot easier if doctors could just see inside, isn’t it? That is the thinking behind Proteus Digital Healths product, an ingestible sensor the size of a grain of sand and powered by stomach acid. When swallowed with a pill, the device, which won FDA approval last year, relays information to your smartphone about your intake schedule and how the drug is affecting your body. The ultimate goal is to embed the sensor directly within pharmaceutical products.

2.      Dexcom

For bringing design to your blood-sugar monitor. Dexcom treats medical devices like your favorite electronics. Its continuous glucose monitor (CGM) -a device that monitors a diabetic’s blood-sugar level via a sensor placed under the skin of the abdomen- could be mistaken for a sleek flip cam, and helped the company increase it revenue 42% in the second quarter of last year. In October, the FDA approved its newest line, the G4 Platinum, which offers a color LCD display, customizable alerts, and up to 30% better accuracy.

3.      GE Healthcare

For making an ultrasound for your whole body. While GE has long been the top seller of ultrasound devices around the worldLogiq, its light and portable laptop-size machine, can do things most others cannot. Logiq has become a favorite of sports doctors -most notably those in the NFL and major-league baseballby allowing them to peer inside an athlete’s body moments after an injury. Its latest versions can construct 3D versions of scans and observe needles inside the body during injections.
